There is a cause and effect in everything. It might seem like few grams of plastic in a water bottle, or a few extra pounds a porter is carrying, or one candid shot of a local person taken without consent - activities such as these by many visitors adds up. That’s why we promise we reduce the negative impact of operations.

We advise visitors to be cognizant of small details that helps them to be environmentally cautious, cultural sensitive and compassionate in their travels. Where ever we go, we take our own water purifiers, so we don’t have to purchase the bottled water. There is no disposal mechanism in the mountains, and all of the garbage ends up in the mountain crevices and ultimately the river. We do cultural debriefing especially when we attend religious and cultural festivals, to ensure we aren’t out of place and we aren’t offending any one by our actions. While the recommended number of visitors per porter is two, we stick with one visitor one porter rule. While the mountain people are very strong, and we see many photos of their physical feat, we take no chances. A wrong step in the mountain slopes with heavy load is enough to cause serious damage. As porters walk up and down the treacherous terrain with heavy loads carried on their back, where proper health care is days away, we want to make sure none of our porters suffer from displaced spinal discs or other ailments that go unnoticed during the travel, but shows up later in their lives. These are but few examples of how we promote ethical travelling in Nepal.

The extra dollars that you spend being ethical goes a long way in ensuring the livelihood of local community is preserved, the environment is left pristine for others to enjoy. In true sense those extra dollars really are priceless. That’s why we only work with service providers who go extra miles to identify and ensure their travel details promote ethical travelling.
